Fortnite Update 27.10 not only brings new seasons but also this feature
Epic Games is rolling out Fortnite Update 27.10 : The new patch appeared during a downtime – the servers were taken offline this morning. The patch not only starts OG seasons 7 and 8, but also a new feature . On the website for the battle royale shooter, Epic Games is introducing a voice chat reporting function . “Now you can not only mute, block and report other players, but also submit audio recordings to prove alleged violations of our community rules,” write the developers.
New voice chat reporting feature
The feature helps Epic Games take action against players who bully or harass other Fortnite players . If you have activated the feature, the last five minutes of the voice chat will always be recorded – older recordings will be automatically deleted. This means: If a player gets on your nerves verbally, you can send the corresponding voice chat to the developers. The developers emphasize that the chats are recorded on your device and not on Epic Games’ servers.
Epic Games employees will review your reported or uploaded voice chat and then take appropriate action. “Voice chat recordings sent to Epic for review will be automatically deleted after 14 days or after the implementation of a sanction, whichever is longer. In the event of an objection, retention for review of the sanction decision may be extended until “If Epic needs to retain a recording to comply with legal obligations, it will be retained for as long as required by law,” the developers said.
For players under 18, the voice chat reporting feature is enabled by default. The developers say: “If you are under 18 and do not want your voice chat to be recorded, you can mute yourself or turn off voice chat entirely by selecting ‘Disabled’ in your voice chat settings .” Players over 18 can adjust the settings in the options. You can report a voice chat to Epic Games by accessing the menu and then selecting “Report/Feedback”. Follow the on-screen instructions to report the nuisance to the developers. A reported player cannot see who reported him.
