The Queen of England celebrated her 96th birthday in a country estate in Norfolk on Thursday, marking the beginning of her Platinum Jubilee. She has been on the throne for nearly 70 years, the longest reign of any British monarch since her mother, Queen Victoria, died in 1901. Queen Elizabeth is also the first British monarch to reach the Platinum Jubilee, her diamond anniversary, which was celebrated last year.
